I have just heard on the radio that following a crash on the M25, ambulances could not get through because vehicles were blocking the lanes despite there being red X’s closing lanes.
This got me thinking. How many drivers are aware of the Highway Code Rules for motorway driving? How many people know about smart motorways?
Over the years the Highway Code gets amended. For example, new or updated information covering the use of mobile phones and more recently sat navs. Also, with the introduction of smart motorways new information has been added.
