Motorway driver training using an automatic car in Rotherham.

Motorways are getting more congested. They are also getting more complex. For example, the introduction of smart motorways and recent changes in the Highway Code.

Perhaps you are an experienced driver who regularly uses motorways but wants to learn new techniques which will help you to reduce your driving stress. Maybe you would find life easier if you could use motorways and reduce your travelling time but you lack confidence.

I have a very strong advanced driving background and I can share with you the techniques I use to stay safe and stress free. For example, techniques which will help you to develop your observation, anticipation and planning. Click here for more information about my qualifications.

Training is delivered in my automatic car in a safe learning environment at your pace. We will focus upon what you want to learn and the skills you want to develop.

You should know how to:

• join and leave motorways, using acceleration and deceleration lanes

• use your mirrors effectively

• look and plan further ahead than you would on single carriageways

• respond to other road users

• use the correct lane

• keep a safe separation distance

• respond to signals, road signs and markings

• avoid fatigue, and use service areas

• overtake

• deal with side winds and turbulence

• recognise and use smart motorways

• deal with contraflows and roadworks

• deal with accidents and breakdowns

• use the hard shoulder

I am based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

Motorway training delivered by me costs £40 per hour. Lessons are usually for a minimum of 1.5 hours (£60). Longer sessions including half and full days maybe available by special arrangement. Training delivered in my automatic car.
