Tyres need to be checked regularly to make sure they are inflated correctly, are not below the legal tread depth of 1.6mm and there are no signs of obvious damage.
Tyres keep you on the road. Under or over inflated tyres can affect your stopping distance and fuel economy.
If you are not sure how to check your tyres ask a colleague, your fleet manager or driver trainer. Buy a tyre pressure and tread depth gauge. Look in your vehicle's manual for the correct tyre pressures. Check your tyres when they are cold.
Remember, you can not check tyre pressures by just looking or kicking them!
