Supporting Older People to Keep Driving

Supporting Older People to Keep Driving in Rotherham.

As we get older we may find driving starts to become more challenging. Sometimes it may be time to retire from driving. However, this is not always the case. Early intervention can help you to stay driving by developing the skills and awareness you need to stay safe.

Medications, fatigue and speed of processing situations can affect how well we drive. The good news is there is driving training available which can help to make driving as easy as possible for you.

Top Tips

  1. Get your eyes checked regularly. Regular eye sight checks will help you to stay safe when driving.

  2. Drive regularly. If you do not use your driving skills you will lose them. Skills fade will make it even more challenging for you to drive.
