Calls for Drink Drive Limit Reform

The Police Federation have echoed RoSPA's call for the lowering the drink drive limit.

They want the limit reduced from 80 to 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

Scotland reduced the limit last year and Northern Ireland is considering doing the same thing.

75,000 drivers are caught drink driving each year inn England and Wales.

Between four to five people die in drink-drive accidents each year.

Provisional figures for 2012 show that 230 people were killed and 1,200 were seriously injured. Often it is innocent arties who are injured. Also, 80m pedestrians were killed by drink drivers.
