Reading this month's Fleetworld. Apparently the Corporate Manslaughter Act has not been seen as successful because there have been very few prosecutions. Does this mean there have been no breaches or is it too difficult to bring a prosecution? I understand that none of the prosecutions so far relate to fleet drivers. The road safety charity Brake, states that only one in three companies is backing up policies with knowledge and training to keep their drivers safe. What do you think about the Act? Waste of time or useful to help companies focus upon effective management of road risk? Company or driver's responsibility?
